Since we already have Music Monday courtesy to Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek, I hereby declare, that Music Diggin’ Friday is a thing from now on.
Compared to last week, we had a slow one. I don’t mind though, because the most important event of the year (at least for me) just happened: Breaking Benjamin released a new album after 2015! Let’s see what else happened during the week.
Albums released
Ember by Breaking Benjamin
There were a few years, when I wasn’t sure we’ll ever hear a new album by BB. Then after a long wait Ben Burnley regrouped the band and they presented the world with Dark Before Down in 2015. I’ve been babbling about my love for them in this post. Now, back to the new album. Over the months we’ve got songs here and there, but I tried to avoid it, as I prefer to hear a new album in it enterity when it’s released. I wasn’t even half awake when I downloaded it on my mp3 player so I could start my day with this. I have to say, it’s a killer one, heavier than the previous album, but I still love those songs best, where Ben’s voice isn’t drowned by the music. I fucking love his voice, if I didn’t make this clear enough yet. I’ll stop it now, go and check the album out for yourself! Along with the new album, they also released a new video for Torn in Two. Here you go:
The Longshot EP by The Longshot
Green Day‘s frontman, Billie Joel put together a side project, which released a 3 songs EP, giving a taste of the upcoming album Love for Losers. Personally, I don’t find it especially good, but there might be some folks to whom it will appeal to.

New singles/videos
Southern Friday Night by Black Stone Cherry
Black Stone Cherry will release their 6th album, The Family Tree next week. These guys aren’t resting much. After the album Kentucky released in 2016, they also released a cover EP titled Black to Blues. I absolutely loved Between the Devil and Deep Blue Sea, which was my first meeting with the band. There were songs on later albums I loved, but as a whole they left me somewhat disappointed. I’m looking forward what The Family Tree will show me. Today we’ve got another song from the album titled Southern Friday Night:
Have a rockin’ friday and weekend ya’ll! 🙂
