Music Diggin' Friday

Music Diggin’ Friday: April 20th

Since we already have Music Monday courtesy to Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek, I hereby declare, that Music Diggin’ Friday is a thing from now on.

Personally, I had a great week, with my Kings of the Wyld review getting some nice feedback and getting news of Nothing More coming to Budapest to perform with Stone Sour in June. I also attended my favorite Hungarian band’s acoustic show on wednesday. It was fun, I love those guys and their music 🙂 Obviously… But apart from my personal enjoyment we had some new releases during the week. Let’s see what we’ve got!

Albums released

Family Tree by Black Stone Cherry

The Kentucky based band, Black Stone Cherry released their 6th studio album today. At first listen it seemed pretty good. I think now I am convinced to buy my ticket for their upcoming show in Budapest. My June will be awesome with Black Stone Cherry, Shindeown, Stone Sour and Nothing More coming to us within a week. Hell yeah! Anyway, Dancing in the Rain were released a few days before Family Tree came out, and this is one of my favorite from the album:

The Longshot by The Longshot

Billie Joe Armstrong‘s side project released their first album out of the blue today. We’ve also got a new video for the single Love is for Losers:

New singles/videos

Take Me With You by Mark Tremonti

On June 8th the new album from Mark Tremonti, titled Dying Machine will be released. We’ve got a new video during the week for the single Take Me With You. To be honest, Mark Tremonti isn’t really up my alley, but I figure many people like him and his music, so here you go:

Your Tounge’s Got the Cat by Lordi

The finnish hard rock band will release their new album on May 28th. It’s been years since I’ve listened to anything from them, but Hard Rock Halleluja is still one of my all time favorites. Anyway, they also released a lyric video for their new song Your Toungue’s Got the Cat:

Sham Pain by Five Finger Death Punch

The American rock band released another song from their upcoming album And Justice For None:

Summer Gone by AWS

AWS is a Hungarian rock band, whom didn’t interest me before. Until they appeared in a contest, where Hungary choose that one band/song who’ll represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest. For those who are unfamiliar with this: this is a European Song Contest, usually held in May where about 44 songs/countries participate and people vote for the favorite song. The winner can held the show the next year. For years this supposed to be a big craz festival, where everything could happen. Lordi, for example one Eurovision for Finnland. People loved their costume and heavy metal music. The contest is somewhat had become kind of boring, every country sends similar kind of songs. So people usually cheer for the craziest acts. Few years ago Russia sent a choir of old ladies. People went crazy for them. Anyway, this year Hungary will send a rock band, which is pretty unheard of, and honestly I was shocked when I saw the results of the voting. They’ll sing in Hungarian, but they also made an english version, which is also pretty good:

For those who feel adventurous I’ll post the hungarian version too 🙂

Have a rockin’ friday and weekend ya’ll! 🙂
