Music Diggin' Friday

Music Diggin’ Friday: August 17th

Since we already have Music Monday courtesy to Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek, I hereby declare, that Music Diggin’ Friday is a thing from now on.

It’s friday again. I absolutely have no idea how did this week went by so fast. Thankfully monday will be a national holiday over here so I still have 3 more days to go of my vacation. Still. I hardly did what I planned to do. Except reading and blogging. At least I was productive. Sadly, no albums to report this week, but I have a score of awesome new songs. And also the sad news of a music legend’s passing. The Queen of Soul left us so I’ll add one more song in her honour.

New singles/videos

Broken by From Ashes To New

Broken is the new single from the American band’s latest album The Future. This song is pretty catchy, I might check out that album. I’ve been hearing about From Ashes To New for a while now, but so far didn’t hook me. Maybe now. I like this song anyway.

Only Us by Thrice

Palms will be released in September, and I can’t fucking wait. Fortunately the guys keep our interest up with another new song, titled Only Us.

Are You Ready by Disturbed

The new Disturbed album, Evolution arrives in October and we finally get the first taste with Are You Ready.

The Censor by Devour The Day

I’ve been keeping an eye on Devour The Day for a while now so I’m happy they are about to launch another album later this year, titled Signal. The first song is already here to our hearing pleasure.

Whirlwind Girl by Sister Hazel

To counter all the heavy music, how about some catchy southern rock? Whirlwind Girl is the third song from Sister Hazel‘s the upcoming EP titled Wind.

Mind Your Manners by Slash feat Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators

Mind Your Manners is from the upcoming album Living The Dream, scheduled to be released next month. Honestly, I’m not a fan of this song, or more like Myles‘ voice, but a lot of you might be interested in this. So here you go.

Respect by Aretha Franklin

And last, but not least, let’s remember a great singer who passed away this week. She had a great voice and I’m sure many of her fans will miss her. But her music will stay with us  forever and this makes her immortal. Rest in peace.

Have a rockin’ friday and weekend ya’ll! 🙂
