Advent Book Calendar

Advent Book Calendar – Day 21

This year I’m going to host an Advent Book Calendar event, where Jen and me are going to pick one book every day until December 24th. Books we’ve read this year, and tell you why you should pick it up. You can check our progress in the Advent Book Calendar 2018 introduction post, where you can “open” the windows every day and find out what we have for your reading pleasure!

This one is close to my heart, because it brought my first little success as a blogger. I really struggled to write up my review and the reception blew my mind away at the time.

But of course I couldn’t have written such a positive review if I didn’t love the book itself. My Goodreads friends kept throwing this book at me to read, but I wasn’t sure if I’ll like it. Oh boy, how wrong I was. It has been a while I had so much fun with a book. I still find the talking door knock hilarious. Not talking about my most favorite character Moog, who was the real heart of the story. Besides I loved the rock band analogy.

“If you are still hesitating whether you should read Kings of the Wyld, let me tell you what to expect: this book will make you laugh out loud, then will force you on your knees, will punch you in the face, will help you up with a smile just to kick you in the gut for an emphasis. And you will enjoy it all.

Clay Cooper and his band were once the best of the best — the meanest, dirtiest, most feared crew of mercenaries this side of the Heartwyld.

Their glory days long past, the mercs have grown apart and grown old, fat, drunk – or a combination of the three. Then an ex-bandmate turns up at Clay’s door with a plea for help. His daughter Rose is trapped in a city besieged by an enemy one hundred thousand strong and hungry for blood. Rescuing Rose is the kind of mission that only the very brave or the very stupid would sign up for.

It’s time to get the band back together for one last tour across the Wyld.
