Thoughts and other ramblings
Today I bring another Hungarian song or its English version anyway. This time I included the Hungarian too, because it’s much better than the English. Obviously. I mean, the music is the same, but it’s a difficult song to put into another language and the lyrics don’t really give back the original. And sometimes the English lyrics comes off strange with the music.
Anyway, I can’t say Leander Kills is a band I listen to, I came through this song because they submitted it as a candidate to be our Eurovision song a few years back. I instantly fell in love with this one. It didn’t win the Hungarian contest, but whatever. It struck a cord in me nonetheless and I still like to listen to it when it pops up.
Lyrics
Look at me
What happened to me?
The writings on the wall
My life is empty
When I smile
My eyes they cry
Now talk to me
And not about me
Cross yourself
Breathe the silence
Give air to your inner self
Live before you die
Til you forget to dream
Don’t leave the child behind
Remember looking through his eyes
You need to live before you die
Say my name
See what I became
The way you say it
I’ll never be the same
