Happy to be…committed? I’m an aspiring writer, reviewer, I produce gaming videos on YouTube and I read just about everything I can get my hands on.
What blogging means to you?
Blogging is a fantastic tool to give a platform of ideas worth sharing, regardless of whether they are contained in novels, movies, animated series, games or anything else. It’s also great fun – you can be as silly as you wish in your own small corner of the internet, and no one will hold that against you…most of the time, anyway.
You are locked in an asylum. What did you do to end up there?
I impressed a cop with my Mark Hammil-esque Joker impression enough that she recruited me and sent me undercover in the asylum! My mission: find out the identity of the leader of an interdimensional drug gang operating out of the asylum!
Either that, or because I used deadly laughing toxin on the public! Hah!
Which fictional character and/or author would you like to live with in an asylum?
Steven Erikson and Ian Cameron Esslemont would be great choices, author-wise. I’d be happy listening to these two brainstorm ideas about the Malazan Book of the Fallen anytime.
Which fictional world would you like to live in?
There’s quite a few I would be happy setting up in, actually. Peter F. Hamilton’s Commonwealth sounds like a whole lot of fun, especially if I’m in one of those moods where death seems like an absolute bore.
When I am more happy about the prospect of death, though, there’s always the superheroic world of web serial “Worm” to look towards. Erikson and Esslemont’s world also seems like an interesting place to live in…if you survive long enough.
If you could switch lives with any character in a book, who would you choose? Would you like to have the author along as a fellow character?
I think I’d switch places with Elhokar Kholin in Brandon Sanderson’s Oathbringer, in particular. I wouldn’t like Brandon to tag along though…what fun would it be, having the Almighty next to me?!
You are a treasure hunter, about to retrieve a chest of gold from a sunken pirate ship, when a beautiful mermaid/merman approaches you, trying to stop you. How do you react?
Bash the mermanmaid’s head in with the chest! No one takes me plunder, mateys! Avast ye!
Your family allows you to keep one fantastical creature at home. What do you choose?
A dragon, of course. I can imagine the arguments now: “Get a job, Filip! I can’t keep buying cows for your dragon with what I get!”
“But mu-uu-um! If I get a job, the dragon will eat the drapes again! And the drape cleaners, as well!”
You can have one magic ability for a day. What can you do and how do you spend that day?
I’d have the magic ability to manipulate time and space; using it, I’ll make sure every day is that particular day, and so I will forever be empowered!
You are a magical creature living near a village. How do you get on with humans?
I will take Jonathan Swift’s “A Modern Proposal” to heart in my interactions with all the humans’ younglings.
While you are locked in here for eternity, we will allow you one book – what would you choose?
…The Complete Malazan Book of the Fallen, the Kindle edition, please! Hah! Didn’t see that one coming, didja?!
