May is here! And you know what does that mean? It’s Wyrd & Wonder month! We celebrate fantasy throughout May. It’s not too late to join in all the fun. You can find the introduction here. Be sure to check it out becuase these ladies planned a LOT of awesome stuff.
As usual, I have all kinds of things planned for this month as well, though not all of them fantasy related. But I’ll try my best. Who knows? I might even do some fun posts using their Wyrd & Wonder challenge prompts! Alright, let’s see what I have in mind:
Book(s) I plan to read in May
I levelled up my game and the links of the books lead to their GR pages and if you click on the covers, then that’ll lead to their Amazon pages (hopefully the one local to you).
I just got a book to beta read which I can’t talk about, but I’m super excited about it. I’m hoping it’ll bring back my enthusiasm for reading, because I’ve been struggling a lot lately… I have a mix of everything for this month: some self-pub, some trad-pub and something not fantasy.
- Tales of Ioth by D.P. Woolliscroft
- The Midnights by Sarah Nicole Smetana
- The Angel of the Crows by Katherine Addison

Audiobook(s) I plan to listen to in May
I honestly have no idea, nothing catches my attention, so I’m back rereading Harry Potter. Again. At this point I need to admit that I’m addicted to Stephen Fry’s voice. But I’m also getting a bit bored, so I’ll make sure to listen to something else as well.
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
- 13 Minutes by Sarah Pinborough
- Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova

Book(s) we plan to review in addition to the ones above
- Arcane Kingdom Online: The Chosen by Jakob Tanner
- Camelot by Giles Kristian

SPFBO
SPFBO5 officially ended, but we still have some things to say, so we’ll be coming with a closing post.
On the other hand, SPFBO6 will start soon and according to plans I’ll let you know all about my team and how we’ll progress this year. Keep tuned!
Until then, you can check out what happened to us this past 10 months on my SPFBO 5 Finals page and the SPFBO 5 Phase 1 page.
Other bookish plans
We have quite a few reviews planned for May, but there is always some space for author spotlight and fun posts. I encourage you to reach out if you’d like to be featured with a guest post, cover reveal or you’d like to take part in any of my features, for which I have a handy sign up form! I’m happy to collaborate with authors and help to promote your work!
To Be Continued…
To Be Continued… is back! 5 new authors will tell you a new story! It’s currently with the last author, so I’m planning to post the first part next week. The working title for this one is The Butcher Queen, but I don’t know yet if it’ll stick around. Anyway, I’m excited about this one, because to begin with, person 1 went and exceeded all of my expectations, lol. From then on, it was one hell of a ride.
Storytellers On Tour
The first month for Storytellers On Tour was a big success. But we are not stopping here. We already have quite a few booked tours for the summer, some of them yet to be announced. Definitely worth signing up to our mailing list (find links below) and keep an eye out for news! In May we’ll be giving you:

Writing plans
To absolutely no one’s suprise, of course I didn’t keep to the plan. In fact I fell even more behind. I was a bit occupied with other things… So, this month the plan is pretty much the same as it was last month: reach 5K for my WIP novella, The Lost God. *fingers crossed*
Other plans
A Week in My Head
In April I managed to write 1 such post, which later got repurposed… I’ll try to do better this month, but no promises…
You can always check my A Week in My Head page to find all the entries!
Well, I think that’s it. Follow me if you like either on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram (I don’t have much content on that platform yet)!
Wow it looks like you have a very busy month of fantasy goodness planned! I’m hoping to read The Angel of the Crows and Incendiary this month, too. I hope you enjoy all of the books on your TBR. 🙂 Happy reading!
Thank you! I hope you’ll have a great reading month as well!
