This past week we gave the spotlight to How LJ and Rom Saved Heavy Metal, S.D. McKinley’s Action Adventure Fantasy novel! Our Roadies brought a wide selection of content to this show with reviews and other posts. Now it’s time to bring the show to an end and it’s my pleasure to present you with the encore, including some extra content. Come and learn a bit more about the world of How LJ and Rom Saved Heavy Metal through S.D’s playlist!
S.D. McKinley lives in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in the first half of the 1980’s and grew up in Wisconsin as a young boy, then moved to Georgia when he turned exactly twelve years old. During teenage years, he raced dirt track go karts and played guitar. He discovered his current love for all kinds of art after his mid-life crisis at 25 years old. S.D. McKinley began writing books in 2017.
Ride along with LJ and Rom as they travel the US to stop the death of their friend Dom, a legendary heavy metal guitarist. What unravels before their eyes is a trippy conspiracy against them and technological warfare on the dreams of not only Dom, but humankind alike. Action packed with fast cars, guns, monsters, magic and an ending like no other.

Lecari’s Livejournal 2.0 – review
“LJ and Rom is a fantastic, fun read that had me totally hooked. I think if I had to compare it to anything, it might be the Bill and Ted films — they are also not too serious, have heavy metal references and have supernatural elements. But this book is unlike anything I’ve read before — and I am delighted to see that S D McKinley is currently working on a second book, released as a web serial on his blog. LJ and Rom is an absolute must-read for anyone who is a fan of the unusual or listens to heavy metal — you won’t be disappointed!”

“After you bomb through How LJ and Rom Saved Heavy Metal (just like Rom and LJ blasting through their race course), you want to know, well, do they save Heavy Metal (and their friend, Rom?) I don’t want to give it away, but I will say this – you sort of get to make your own mind up. At least, while we await the second book (presumably there will be one) to hit the shelves.”

Bush – Machine Head
This song is actually mentioned in the book and it relates to our constant relationship to machines, namely LJ and Rom’s rally car, which they are entirely dependent on to complete their mission. It has other meanings, but those aren’t disclosed in book #1.
N17 – Kontrol
LJ and Rom hardly know what’s in store for them after they hit the open road. Are they being controlled in a way that they don’t realize? I’d bet a solid $5 you haven’t heard this song. 😉
Two Feet – Love is a Bitch
This represents LJ’s relationship to his girlfriend Vic, which later he finds out might in fact be a bitch.
Pendulum – The Other Side
LJ and Rom end their journey in the worst conundrum of the whole book. This song is a good rough explanation and teaser for what the answer is to where they have ended up, which more information will be revealed in book #2.a Rafflecopter giveaway
