This review ended up to be quite long, so let me just wrap it up. I’ve been really impressed by the quality of the content in Tales of Ioth. Don’t get me wrong, Woolliscroft presented exactly what I expected of him and then some more. These stories not only give us a better picture of the characters we already know, but also we get to know Alfaria and the Alfjarun culture a bit more. If you like the Wildfire Cycle, then you definitely shouldn’t miss Tales of Ioth and all these brilliant adventures.

If you liked Kingshold, then you probably don’t need any more prompting to check out Ioth, City of Lights. While Kingshold was something fresh in Fantasy, Ioth, City of Lights is rather a classical epic fantasy with a solid world building, a large set of interesting characters, political intrigue and plenty of action. While it has its own story arc, it leaves plenty of room for the next adventure. I’m pretty sure Woolliscroft has quite a few things waiting for us in the future.

This is book 2 of the Wildifre Cycle and continues the story from both Kingshold and Tales of Kingshold (two books before book 2, what? I know but you can read here if you want to know more). 95% of Kingshold took place in the titular city and I tried really hard to make it come alive in the story, but also tried to do that in a couple of other ways too. There is the great landscape of the city of Kingshold that was made by Jeff Brown and there was the map of the city. It’s these things that I am here to talk about today. Maps! And the reveal of the full landscape art for Ioth.

The Questioning is where everything gets upside down. As part of my blogiversary celebration, I invited 10 authors and 10 bloggers/reviewers who showed great support during my first year as a blogger. Then I pushed them waaaaay out of the comfort zones.
