Music Monday: Agreement By Kitaro And Jon Anderson

Music Monday is a meme that was created by Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek. Bjørn and I will pick a song alternatively on each Monday and share our thoughts about them. Bjørn’s pick this week is Agreement by Kitaro and Jon Anderson.

In the coming weeks, I’m going to focus on songs that refuse to age. One of them is ‘Macarena’ (don’t @ me, I’m right) which I will spare you, because the Queen would surely behead me for THAT.

It’s an interesting one. I don’t like any other track Kitaro has ever released (…that I know of) and the only other Jon Anderson song I like is his collaboration with Mike Oldfield, ‘Shine’. Somehow, as a combo, those two work perfectly. I used to have my own chart, which went on for 17 years, and ‘Agreement’ topped it for four weeks. It still hasn’t aged, or perhaps it aged perfectly – the mix of electronica, pan flutes (I generally hate pan flutes), and prog rock shouldn’t work, but oh, it does.
