Since we already have Music Monday courtesy to Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek, I hereby declare, that Music Diggin’ Friday is a thing from now on.
It was a nice, short 3 days work week here in Hungary. I would have enjoyed it more if I had slept in the last two days… Complaining aside, we have yet again a nice selection of music for you listening pleasure 😉 In my post last week I stated the the new Shaman’s Harvest album, Red Hands Black Deads was a disappointment for me. I have to amend, because getting a listen to some of their news songs I couldn’t understand why I thought that. So, today I went and gave it another listen and oh, man. I’ve listened to it 3 times in a row, because it’s awesome! I don’t know where my ears (or mind for that matter) was the last time. So I bought it and going to listen to it while I get bored to death by it. I’m not even sorry. Maybe just because I dismissed them the first time. So, people, go and check them out!
Albums released
Attention Attention by Shinedown
The American band just released their 6th studio album today titled Attention Attention. We’ve already got the singles Devil and The Human Radio in the previous weeks. I only gave it one listen, but at first glance sounds good. As the band stated in interviews, the sound is somewhat heavier and the lyrics as well. Smith gave a longer interview which appeared on Loudwire during the week where he talks about the lyrics and what inspired him.

New singles/videos
When The Seasons Change by Five Finger Death Punch
The guys in FFDP don’t waste their time lately. Today they launched yet another song from their upcoming album. When The Seasons Change is a slow song, and while not bad, it’s nowhere close to Far From Home, Walk Away or my personal favorite, Remember Everything.
The One You Know by Alice in Chains
I’m no Alice in Chains fan, but I figure some of you might be. So here is some good news for you: a new album is coming, and today they released the first song too, The One You Know.
Nothing’s Gonna Be Alright by Lola Black
Usually I dismiss bands with a female lead/female singers, because I just don’t like them. There are always exceptions of course, let’s take Halestorm for example. I’m dying to see them perform live and looks like I’ll do it in October. The seeing them, not the dying before any of you get a funny idea 😛 Anyway, for some unknown reason I decided to click on an article featuring the new song of Lola Black. Never heard of her before, but I have to say it was a nice surprise. This song is quite good and I don’t want to tear my ears off hearing her voice, which is always a good sign. I’ll have to look further in her career. I feel like there are some more suprises waiting for me there. Apparently, her album with the same title will come out this summer.
Urgent (Orchestral) by Foreigner
Foreigner is one of the few big classic bands I actually love to listen to every once in a while when the mood hits me. Seems like retirement is not really on their mind and so they went and released another album titled Foreigner With The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra & Chorus. A new video celebrating the launch were posted on facebook as well for the song Urgent.
UnAmerican by Dead Sara
Now, Dead Sara is another female leaded band I love. I discovered them a few years back with their song Weatherman and I follow them ever since. In June they’ll release a new EP titled Temporary Things Taking Up Space. The first song from it is UnAmerican.
Southern Fried Friday Night by Black Stone Cherry
After releasing their new album Family Tree not long ago, the guys from Kentucky released a lyric video for their single, Southern Fried Friday Night. Do you need any better song to kick off your friday night? I don’t think so 😉
Have a rockin’ friday and weekend ya’ll! 🙂
