Music Monday: Alive by Sia

Music Monday is a meme that was created by Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek. Bjørn and I will pick a song alternatively on each Monday and share our thoughts about them. Timy’s pick this week is Alive by Sia.

I’ve been waiting for a week now to finally have my turn so I’d be able to ship this song. Can’t say I’m a diehard fan of Sia, although I obviously heard some of her most popular songs such as Chandelier or Titanium she did with David Guetta, or Alive for that matter. And hoo boy this woman has pipes. She sure has an amazing voice.

But then, every once in a while, a song you’ve known for ages suddenly just grabs you by the throat and you don’t understand why you never really paid attention to it. Alive is one of those songs for me. And as someone who doesn’t believe in coincidences, I’m pretty sure this had to happen now. Or rather, last weekend, when I started to work on a story in earnest, and as it happens, Alive I think will be the theme song for one of my MCs. Because as I was listening, it hit me that it would be so perfect. So yeah, I’m probably going to listen to this at least a hundred times in the foreseeable future. I’ve no regrets whatsoever.
