Music Monday is a meme that was created by Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek. Bjørn and I will pick a song alternatively on each Monday and share our thoughts about them. Bjørn’s pick this week is Sparkling by Dita von Teese.

I am fascinated by Dita von Teese. I know I’m not alone in this. I am also fascinated by Sebastien Tellier, because the man has done it ALL. If I am a multi-genre author, he puts me to shame by having recorded and produced ALL THE MUSIC. Including the random, nearly impeccable Dita von Teese album. (Despite the fact that he looks exactly like I will in twenty years, Sebastien Tellier and I are most probably not related.)Dita’s voice is surprisingly pleasant, if mostly softly spoken. Everything about her, from the name to the, well, I mean, do you even know who Dita von Teese is? Watch this video and you’ll get an idea. You will never get more, because Dita is an idea, a tease that never quite satisfies, whether on stage or serving as a prop in a Taylor Swift video. (‘Bejeweled’ – thank me later.) The music is the same, almost not there and almost there, slightly untouchable, emerging only to disappear.

I’m on a blue sky
Turning a blind eye
Turgling flow
Just let it go
Here comes the black shine
Blushing my life
These color tones
Magical shadow
Fly, fly
Fly to the rainbow
I’m in your heart don’t you go
Hard sparkling rain
My bubbles unchained
My pleasure champagne
Again and again
Kaleidoscopic
Hallucinations
Colouring my lips
With delectation
Fly, fly
Fly to the rainbow
I’m in your heart don’t you go
