Music Monday is a meme that was created by Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek. Bjørn and I will pick a song alternatively on each Monday and share our thoughts about them. Bjørn’s pick this week is United States of Whatever by Sifl & Olly.

There used to be a time when MTV played music. That time ended and Music Television switched to reality shows and… whatever you call those two sock puppets. Who had an actual hit with the shortest song that has ever charted in the UK to date – 1 minute and 26 seconds. (Worry not, weirdos with long attention spans! There is an extended mix that keeps going for 2:04.) Wikipedia has a whole analysis of ‘United States of Whatever’ because apparently the world needs that. The unnerving thing about ‘United States of Whatever’ is that it’s weird, quirky, confusing, punk as fuck, and also disturbingly catchy in that LCD Soundsystem way.

I went down to the beach and saw Kiki

Then this chick comes up to me

And he’s like, “Nothin,” and I’m like, “That’s cool”
