Thoughts and other ramblings
This day had come! I’m going to see Nothing More tonight! I wish I was more excited, but my mood is just really down for some reasons. Not that it will keep me from having fun tonight. We’ve known for a while now that Stone Sour comes to Budapest this summer for the first time, and while I like them, I’m not that big of a fan, and probably wouldn’t bothered to go to tonight’s show. Until, that is, it was announced that they’ll come with Nothing More. 10 minutes later I had my ticket.
I’ve been keeping an eye on them since about 2014 I think, when they made an impact with This Is The Time on the rock scene. And although that album didn’t hooked me, I could see they had potential. Last year they released The Stories We Tell Ourselves. I was sceptical. Then I listened to Go To War and I was blown away. Usually I don’t like this kind of singing voice, but damn, this guy has a charisma that doesn’t let you take your eyes off of him. You can’t help but being sucked in. Before I knew it I was obsessed with the album. I’ve listened to it about a 100 times already. My favorites apart from Go To War are Don’t Stop, Just Say When, Fade In / Fade Out, Let ‘Em Burn… Okay, you know what? Go and check out the whole album!
Lyrics
I don’t know what you had in mind
But here we stand on opposing sides
Let’s go to war
Let’s go to war
We arm ourselves with the wrongs we’ve done
Name them off one by one
Let’s go to war
Let’s go to war
Everything you say
Everything you do
You push it in
And you cut me down
And you cut me down
(War, war, war!)
Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Hush, my baby, make no sound
Maybe we can wait each other out
It’s a cold war
Let’s go to war
With every settled score
I thought that fighting with meant fighting for
But you turn it around
But you turn it around
(War, war, war!)
Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe
Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we censor? Do we flow?
Are we drunk on the chemicals?
Every feeling in my bones
Tells me to lash out and tell you to fuck off
You’ve got my heart and I’ve got your soul
But are we better off alone?
With every battle we lose a little more
Remember everything that we’d die for
You are everything that I’d die for
Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe
Screaming at the ones we love
Like we forgot who we can trust
Screaming at the top of our lungs
On the grounds where we feel safe
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do we feel safe?
Do you feel safe?
