Music Monday

Music Monday: Pain by Three Days Grace

Music Monday is a meme that was created by Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek. Bjørn and I will pick a song alternatively on each Monday and share our thoughts about them. Timy’s pick this week is Pain by Three Days Grace.

Thoughts and Ramblings

It’s Monday. Mondays don’t usually like me much and today is no different. I started off the day by falling on my knees on a tile for as I tried to catch the Metro on my way to work. I slipped on something wet (I think), and of course, I mostly hit my right knee. Which is the same one I injured pretty badly last summer. At least I hit it at a different spot so I didn’t reopen the wound that still lingers, so there is that, but it still hurts like a bitch. Fun. I almost forgot what pain feels like. Thanks for nothing, universe.

Look, I know this classic Three Days Grace song is about a different kind of pain, but it feels accurate. Besides, it’s been ages since I listened to Three Days Grace. Maybe I should revisit their old stuff when Adam Gontier was their singer. Anyway. Enjoy this little trip back to the past.

Song Lyrics

Pain without love
Pain, I can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all

You’re sick of feeling numb
You’re not the only one
I’ll take you by the hand
And I’ll show you a world that you can understand
This life is filled with hurt
When happiness doesn’t work
Trust me and take my hand
When the lights go out, you’ll understand

Pain without love
Pain, I can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain without love
Pain, I can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all

Anger and agony are better than misery
Trust me, I’ve got a plan
When the lights go up, you’ll understand

Pain without love
Pain, I can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love
Pain, I can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d like to feel pain than nothing
Rather feel pain

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
That you’re wounded
You know, you know, you know, you know
That I’m here to save you
You know, you know, you know, you know
I’m always here for you
I know, I know, I know, I know
That you’ll thank me later

Pain without love
Pain, can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain without love
Pain, I can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain without love
Pain, I can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all

Rather feel pain than nothing at all
Rather feel pain
