Like last year, we once again decided to post 3 separate top 10 reads of 2021 lists instead of one mega-list or one with only a couple of picks each. Which, let’s face it, would be downright cruelty to ourselves. Our only rule was that any book on these lists has to be read during 2021, regardless of when they were published and by whom. And we had to love them, obviously. Maybe. I mean, when you keep shouting at the author in private for things they did, it’s surely a sign of love, right? Even if you call said author names… *ahem* Anyway next up is Jen with her Top 10 Reads of 2021!

The Sound of Madness Reading Challenge is back! I’m probably the only one who is excited by this, but oh well. I had a lot of fun with both coming up with prompts (all music-related!) and then fulfilling them throughout the year in 2021, so I decided to have another go at it. I hardly take part in reading challenges in general, but as I was creating The Ultimate Tour Experience for Storytellers on Tour, I had way too much fun with coming up with prompts. So much so, that I kept thinking into the night about songs and bands that would make awesome prompts. The next day The Sound of Madness Reading Challenge came to life. Titled after an also great song by Shinedown. Now with a final update!

The epic sale of beloved SFF books is back in 2021! What is this, you ask? Well, I’m glad you asked. Between August 20th and 26th, you can get 53 indie SFF titles for a mere $0.99! Right in time for September, when Self-Published Fantasy Month kicks off so you can read all the books you hoard now. That sounds like a good deal to me.

Alas, June comes to an end, another month flew by and we couldn’t have asked the gods for a better post to wrap up an awesome month. If that title didn’t get you then all hope eludes you.

Closing the curtain on Pride Month (though, stay tuned—this isn’t it for Pride Nights!), author Lyra Wolf dives into Loki’s queerness, which she explored in her fantasy series The Nine Worlds Rising.
