What do we plan for 2022

What Do We Plan For 2022?

It’s that time of the year again – although we are a tiny bit late – when we sit down and set goals for the year ahead of us. These past two years showed us that life is about as unpredictable as they come, and planning ahead requires some flexibility. We can only hope this year will be kinder to us all and we can achieve what we aim for. Only time will tell whether we make it or not, but we can definitely try! And so, we are here to tell you what we plan for 2022 blogging, reading, and life-wise. Come and get excited with us and tell us what you are looking for the most this year!

Release Radar January

Release Radar – January 2022

Our January edition of Release Radar features delightful sword-free fantasy, bloody revenge quests, cutthroat space races, tribal wars, and more. It may come a bit delayed given it’s already February (HOW?!) but hey, it’s never too late to shout out great books!

Release Radar February

Release Radar – February 2022

Welcome to the Asylum’s latest feature: Release Radar, a new monthly feature where we highlight our most anticipated reads of the month. Whether by driving preorders or simply boosting visibility, we hope this feature becomes your go-to guide to all the shiny new releases and that you’ll discover new authors and new reads to cry over.

Changes in the Asylum

Announcement: Changes in the Asylum!

In the past 1,5 years, the focus mostly fell on books Justine and I promoted via Storytellers On Tour. But since we closed the doors, and I had new challenges ahead of me, I knew we needed changes in the Asylum. And so, we are here to tell you all about those changes!

Arina's Top 10 Reads of 2021

Arina’s Top 10 Reads of 2021

Like last year, the Asylum ladies are sharing their top 10 reads of 2021 in a sequence of 3 posts. Today Arina closes the curtain on this spotlight. You’ll notice some of these books weren’t actual 2021 releases, as the only rule we had for our top reads was that we had to have read them in 2021, regardless of their release date. Because it’s never too late to discover a favorite or a genre-behemoth you are just now learning to love.

Jen's Top 10 Reads of 2021

Jen’s Top 10 Reads of 2021

Like last year, we once again decided to post 3 separate top 10 reads of 2021 lists instead of one mega-list or one with only a couple of picks each. Which, let’s face it, would be downright cruelty to ourselves. Our only rule was that any book on these lists has to be read during 2021, regardless of when they were published and by whom. And we had to love them, obviously. Maybe. I mean, when you keep shouting at the author in private for things they did, it’s surely a sign of love, right? Even if you call said author names… *ahem* Anyway next up is Jen with her Top 10 Reads of 2021!

Timy's Top 10 Reads of 2021

The Sound of Madness Reading Challenge

The Sound of Madness Reading Challenge 2022

The Sound of Madness Reading Challenge is back! I’m probably the only one who is excited by this, but oh well. I had a lot of fun with both coming up with prompts (all music-related!) and then fulfilling them throughout the year in 2021, so I decided to have another go at it. I had a couple of walks down memory lane while I put this post together, so I hope you’ll create your own ones by reading books and listening to great music this year!

The Sound of Madness Reading Challenge

The Sound of Madness Reading Challenge 2021

I hardly take part in reading challenges in general, but as I was creating The Ultimate Tour Experience for Storytellers on Tour, I had way too much fun with coming up with prompts. So much so, that I kept thinking into the night about songs and bands that would make awesome prompts. The next day The Sound of Madness Reading Challenge came to life. Titled after an also great song by Shinedown. Now with a final update!
