What’s to come? – November Sneak Peek

November started with a nice long weekend, which I made longer by being sick. Yay me! On top of it some nice changes are going on in my life, so I could kick this month off on a good note. Honestly I don’t expect much from this month excitement wise. I’ll read a few books, will post things. We’ll have all of our SPFBO semi-finalists ready too so the real fun can began.

I like September. The weather cools to a bearable degree, I can get out my leather jacket and boots. Yay! Also, we are getting closer to BristolCon, only 1,5 months away now! SPFBO continues, the semi-finalists are getting announced slowly and things are getting interesting. Also, my blog will be six months old! Can you believe that? So let’s see what I have in store for you this month!

What’s to come? – August sneak peek

I’m so excited! August will be fun. SPFBO had started yesterday and I decided to shake up my schedule a bit so I could fit some of my picks of the FBR lot in as soon as I can, so I’ll have time to read our semi-finalists toward the end of the year. Maybe it’s not a surprise by now, but I’m taking part in the competition as advisor for Fantasy Book Review. Soon I’ll have my own SPFBO page up here on the blog and have some other plans in the making too regarding our 30 books 🙂

Interview

Author Interview with David Hambling

David Hambling is a journalist, traveller, and author of several Lovecraftian horror novels. the Harry Stubbs series amongst these. He took some time off his busy schedule to answer some of my questions!

Author Interview with Damien Black

Damien Black, author of the Broken Stone Chronicle series, SPFBO finalist who ended up snatching the third place thanks to the tie on the second place. Ex-journalist, ex-musician (although you can never stop being a musician deep, deep down). I’ve pretty much publicised already in my Devil’s Night Dawning review how I got to meet him and how he played a big part of my being here today, so I won’t repeat myself. Let’s just say he is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and he made me into a sorceress, lol 🙂 He is currently being busy writing book 3 of his epic fantasy series, but took the time to answer some questions!

Some Distant Sunrise by Elliott Downing

Some Distant Sunrise by Elliott Downing

Some Distant Sunrise is a powerfully emotional, dark tale of addiction, second chances, choices and life. One the writing makes even more real, where you can almost feel the needle’s cold, metallic touch on your arm, the biting cold of the night and feel the pressure of the world as it closes on you, taste the desperation in the air.
