Damien Black, author of the Broken Stone Chronicle series, SPFBO finalist who ended up snatching the third place thanks to the tie on the second place. Ex-journalist, ex-musician (although you can never stop being a musician deep, deep down). I’ve pretty much publicised already in my Devil’s Night Dawning review how I got to meet him and how he played a big part of my being here today, so I won’t repeat myself. Let’s just say he is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and he made me into a sorceress, lol 🙂 He is currently being busy writing book 3 of his epic fantasy series, but took the time to answer some questions!
Music Monday: In Chains by Shaman’s Harvest
Their new album, Red Hands Black Deeds didn’t catch me at first, but I’ve been listening to it at least a dozen times since then. And while I could choose a song from that one (okay, not really, they are all awesome), I decided to share In Chains, my first big love from Shaman’s Harvest.

Warlock’s Sun Rising by Damien Black
Warlock’s Sun Rising offers a wide selection of characters you can love or hate, from every cast be it noble or peasant, rich or poor, male or female. And that diversity which makes it so damn interesting and enjoyable. Plus the fact that it can leave your mouth hanging open with a twist you never saw coming.
Author Spotlight: Soundtracks by A.M. Justice – Guest Post
Amanda, like a hawk sensing its prey, swept in and took the opportunity. Which made me pretty happy, because, well, you know, I’m a music addict, so finally someone combined my two love: books and music! Amanda gives us a glimpse how she uses music during her story. This article is rather interesting, so hopefully you’ll like it as much as I do!
Paternus: Wrath of Gods by Dyrk Ashton
In Wrath of Gods the stakes are getting higher, and if you thought it’s impossible to dig up even more mythological creatures, then think again. Dyrk Ashton has some more of them up in his sleeves and not afraid to use them. And play with your emotions too while he is at it.
Music Monday: Summer Is A Curse by The Faim
This is not your typical summer song though, but it’s definitely catchy. For me it’s about chances, about never giving up, about trying even though it might be fruitless. You can just never know what’s going to happen in a day, or a week, or a month. Your life might change out of the blue and you’ll be happy you held on.
The Lighthouse Keeper by Cynthia Ellingsen
Actually, this is a perfect summer read for those who like to read romance books, while lounging by a pool, drinking cocktails, and pointedly not acknowledging the world around them. The Lighthouse keeper blends romance, mystery, past and present loves together nicely. I recommend this book for everyone who looks for a nice light romance book, with a summer feel, and the vibrant life of a small town.
What’s to come? – July sneak peek
Here is what I plan to do in July: read, write reviews, host some authors, listen to music, redesinging and getting ready for #SPFBO 🙂 All fun stuff.
Fawkes by Nadine Brandes
Fawkes blends real historical events from 17th century England with fictitious characters and fantasy elements. The world building is seamless, London almost leaps off the pages. Nadine Brandes did her homework right and thoroughly researched the era and the events. The result is an intriguing, page turning story where you can’t help but go through a wide range of emotions together with the characters.
