Today I wanted to choose a song with a positive message. I’ve been in a good mood these days, because personal reasons, so I’ve been browsing my mp3 player to see what I have for this. I’ve picked #JOY because I love its message. And I also know how much a nice word, or a smile can mean and brighten your day. The music itself is not exactly happy, but whatever. I am.
Music Monday: Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day
I had a really hard time choosing between The Sound of Silence and Stan sooo I went and choose a third one. Actually, it’s pretty fitting. I did have a great time. Maybe not the time of my life, but great fun nonetheless.
Music Monday: G.O.A.T by Theory of a Deadman
I choose G.O.A.T by Theory of a Deadman because I wanted something to reflect my mood (well, okay, I always choose songs like that, duh.) It’s an upbeat song, kind of a preptalk to myself that I can do this, I can get through this weekend and it’ll be awesome.
Music Monday: Angel by Poets of the Fall
I probably could pick about a dozen songs, but they just released their latest album Ultraviolet about 2 weeks ago. I gave them a quick listen then, but I was distracted with many other things and I only just got around to pay attention. I was about to go to sleep but I was still chatting with a friend when this song came up. It struck a chord in me and then saw the title. Angel.
Music Monday: It’s My Life by Bon Jovi
Bon Jovi is one of those bands I don’t particularly like, but even so managed to have an impact on me. There are about 10 of their songs I listen to when I feel a sudden urge to put them on. It’s My Life is one of those songs everyone knows and I just can’t help myself dancing and singing along when I hear it. For some reason I thought it was older, but turns out it was released in 2000. In retrospect, it’s already 18 years old. Damn. I still love it so who cares. Also, it has a pretty simple message which applies no matter how old you are.
Music Monday: Somewhere I Belong by Linkin Park
I’ve been listening to LP on Friday, then they came up in a conversation over the weekend and I woke up this morning listening to some more LP. I guess it’s just that kind of day. Somewhere I Belong always resonated with me, even when I had no idea what the lyrics meant. I always wanted to belong somewhere.
Music Monday: Fuckin’ Perfect by P!nk
P!nk is one of those few female singers I actually like. I always adored her for being different, and a rebel who weren’t afraid to be herself be it about clothes or music or anything else. I don’t like all of her songs, and I think she tends to be more pop than rock lately, but whatever. There are still songs of her I love the hell out of. Fucking Perfect is one of those songs.
Music Monday: I Like It Heavy by Halestorm
I think Into the Wild Life is still my favorite Halestrom album. I’m kind of disappointed about Vicious. Anyway, I probably could pick a few other songs, but I chose I Like it Heavy, becuase I woke up with a line stuck in my head “We’ll get matching tattoos” and had no idea which song it was from. I did some reasearch (I totally was thinking it was from another band, oops), and this song came up. So here we go. Besides, I really like this song.
Music Monday: Walk On Water by Thirty Seconds To Mars
I’m not such a huge fan of Thirty Seconds to Mars, but they happen to have some pretty good songs. For some reason, I’m quite obsessed with Walk on Water ever since I first heard it. It’s quite catchy. And it catched my eyes when I scrolled through my mp3 player. As I said, catchy. Now I shut up before I make worse jokes.
